Nusa Kitchen just the best for soups

Calling all office workers in London… good, wholesome soup is right here in Nusa Kitchen! It totally knocks the socks off the competition; whereas most lunch takeaway places offer soups as an afterthought to their main selections of sandwiches or hot food, Nusa Kitchen’s main product is soup, and lots of different varieties that change on a daily basis.

Since I discovered Nusa Kitchen a few months ago, it has been a regular place for me on those cool or rainy days, and it has never disappointed. In fact, everytime I go, there is usually a long line of people waiting outside, but don’t be put off by the queue; the service is fast and those precious 30 minutes for lunch won’t slip away. Usually there is about 8 different soups on offer, with a good range for vegetarians and gluten-free soups, and they only use natural ingredients so you can sure there are no artificial MSG or flavorings or coloring added.  The daily range of soups can be found on their website. One of my favourites is their Malacca Fish Chowder. I have noticed that they seem to specialize in Asian soups, and while they are not the real thing but with a Western twist, they have been created amazingly well.

They also sell a range of home decorated cup cakes which look so tantalizing at the checkout counter (so hard to resist), which might even better than the soups themselves!

Nusa Kitchen Adams Court In terms of cost, it won’t be as cheap as the sandwich from Tesco’s across the road, but at between £3.75 and £4.10 for a soup with a roll of bread or rice, it isn’t too bad and the portion is very filling. An added bonus in these credit crunch times is that they run a loyalty card scheme as well, where your 10th soup is free on the house!

Verdict: This is a definite on my list of top places to get a takeaway lunch in the City. I have only tried their Adams Court shop, but they also have an outlet near Old Street. Although sandwiches, roast beef, and salads might be the staple of any office worker, sometimes its nice just to have a soup for lunch!
