Wahaca – Mexican Street Food – Restaurant Review

The London Insider team had heard much about this Mexican restaurant in Covent Garden, and finally decided to give it a try to see what the fuss was about. On our first visit, we were hugely disappointed by the hour plus queue for a table, but on our second visit on a weekday night we were seated at a table relatively quickly and enjoyed some pretty good Mexican food; unfortunately, the service could have been better.

This is a coffee shop that still exudes an independent aura, but is almost on the verge of joining Starbucks and Cafe Nero as one of the “big boys”. The Highbury Studio branch is their newest, with earlier branches in Soho and Westfield proving very popular. So what differentiates Sacred Cafe from the rest of the coffee shops in London? They promise organic coffee and food, with an emphasis on quality and a pleasant environment.

Avatar is one of the most hotly anticipated films of the year, and is set to premiere worldwide on the 18th December 2009. The film is, coincidentally, set in London in the year 2024 and promises to be a revolutionary film; full of action, visually stunning, and fast-paced. Riding the wave of 3D films, Avatar will incorporate new intuitive CGI technologies to transform the environments and characters into photorealistic 3D imagery that will transport the audience into a world rich with imaginative vistas, creatures and characters. It promises to beat all the other 3D movies hands down, and sources close to the movie production say it is nothing like they have ever seen before.

Tinderbox Cafe, Angel N1 – Review

In truth, pretty much all coffee shops are the same. But this one served great coffee, and had that little bit extra that makes it a great place. I can see that this place already has a loyal following and a solid reputation behind it, and can see it being one of the top coffee spots in London. Good coffee, good atmosphere, comfy chairs, and best of all, independent.

Chilango, Mexican Restaurant/Takeaway – Review

Located on Upper Street, N1 (with another branch near Fleet Street (EC4), this place serves Mexican food in a fast food way, but in a funky setting. Aimed at young professionals looking for a Mexican quick-fix lunch, they specialize in Burritos as well as margaritas. But does it deserve all the raving reviews and hype that it receives in the press?
