Free Jazz Festival @ Canary Wharf

Celebrating its 3rd anniversary, this ever-popular free jazz festival is taking place again at Canary Wharf, between the 13th and 16th of August. This popular event promises to showcase the skills of talented experienced jazz musicians in the UK, as well as a host of new up and coming talent, and is a perfect way to spend the weekend is the weather is good.

The Mango Tree Thai Restaurant Review – Victoria

This fabulous Thai restaurant is located near Victoria station off Grosvenor Place, and is hard to miss as it is at a corner of a major junction. The ambience is posh with high ceilings, and a very stylish looking bar that doubles up as a waiting area. The Thai food served is some of the highest quality available in London, but unfortunately the price does seem rather steep and an unnecessary expense during this credit crunch.

G-Force 3D the Movie Review – O2 Vue Cinema

G-Force, a Disney-produced animated movie, is now out in cinemas, and is one of the first movies using new 3D technology. Wait… I hear you ask, didn’t 3-D technology make its debut like two decades ago, but was a complete failure and got permanently canned?

Have you tried Weasel Regurgitated Coffee?

The title says it all. Weasels in Vietnam are fed coffee berries (the precursor to coffee beans), which they then regurgitate, and the berries are then roasted and voila, weasel coffee beans! As bizarre as it sounds, its not as bad as the Indonesian version, called Civet Coffee, or Kopi Luwak. There, civets, which are a type of cat (and similar to weasels), eat the berries, but don’t regurgitate them and instead they pass through the entire digestive track and comes out the other end intact.

Free London Eye Wheel Alternative: City Hall

The London Eye is one of the essential must-see attractions in London for any tourist, and indeed for any self-respecting Londoner. But is it really worth the high ticket price, the long queues, and the few minutes you spend up in the air? Luckily, there is a little-known cheap (i.e. free) alternative, in a location where you don’t have to take pictures through persplex glass and you can stay as long as you want!

Which are the safest areas or boroughs of London?

Where can I walk the streets in London at 2am in the morning and still feel safe and not get mugged or stabbed? Where can I leave my MacBook sitting by the window and not have it stolen? These are the questions that I wanted to know in my search for the safest boroughs in London, as well as naming and shaming the worst performing ones.
