Review: Cilantro Cafe Brings Refreshing New Concept

Cilantro is not just any American-style coffee shop in London’s tourist district; for starters, it is actually from Egypt, and manages to trump the big chains such as Starbucks or Nero at their own game. While the service needs some improvement, Cilantro has reinvented the coffee shop to be what it should really be: a relaxing, comfortable place for people to hang out together while having good quality drinks and food.

Review: Yeasayer Gig at Heaven Club

Yeasayer is an indie band from Brooklyn, New York, that burst onto the rock scene in 2007 and since then have gained respect for their breath of fresh music into the rock genre. As part of the Shockwaves NME Awards series in 2010, they were invited to cross the Atlantic to show music fans in London what the fuss about them is all about. We went and reviewed the concert, and here is our take.

Review: Marina’s Show Stopping Performance at Dingwalls

With a debut album due for release this month and singles that have already been memorised by her fans, Marina and the Diamonds could be joining the likes of La Roux and Florence and the Machines as names to continue to have your eyes on in 2010. She stole the show with her set at Dingwalls, Camden, leaving fans eager for more and new dates for 2010 have since been announced to keep them on their toes.

London’s Finest – Crème de la Crêpe

The humble crêpe – isn’t it just the French version of the American pancake, with a dollop of Nutella inside? Nick Willoughby is out to revolutionise the traditional creperie, with his new shop in Covent Garden called Crème de la Crêpe. Serving delightful and tasty crêpes with interesting flavours such as Banoffee Pie and Buffalo Bill, we went to have a look and sample some of the food, as well get behind the kitchen counter and try our hand at making a crêpe!
