Leon Review: “Feel Good” Fast Food?

When studying, living, or working around central London it is sometimes quite a dilemma to find a restaurant that serves cheap, quick, and healthy food. Leon, an award winning fast food restaurant, has a reputation for doing exactly that, and so when the opportunity presented itself for me to visit the Cannon Street branch of Leon, I couldn’t wait to see what all the fuss was about!

The Best Pubs & Bars To Watch Ice Hockey

Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks or Washington Capitals.

These are some of the characteristically North American names that should make you shiver with joy if you already know what a ‘puck’ is. For those who don’t, that’s the name of the beloved black disk serving as a ball in ice hockey. The sport is does not have a popular following in London, but more than just a few expats would kill to find a cosy place to watch their favourite game here.

Art and Photography at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital

A hospital is not normally the place you would imagine featuring art installations and photography exhibitions, but this is exactly what has happened at the Chelsea & Westminster hospital. We went along to look at one such exhibition promoted by the Hospital Arts charity, and was impressed with the stunning travel photography on display.

Celeste Boursier Mougenot at the Barbican Curve Gallery

The installation begins with a long dark corridor, the walls sporadically illuminated by projections of hands fingering melodies on guitar necks. What is heard is something else; a murmur of twittering sounds, somewhere between bird and grasshopper, emanate from the processed video signals.

Ahmed Dickinson – Music Created from the Heart

In the last year alone I was lucky enough to meet many individuals who are all exceptional talents in their fields. One of them is Ahmed Dickinson Cardenas, a London-based Cuban classical guitarist. I was just amazed the first time I heard him play. A master of the “feeling” trend of Cuban music, Ahmed Dickinson is one of those rare artists that fly under the pop music radar and should not be missed.
