Mango and Stylist Magazine Combine to Launch “Work It”

As a guy, I normally don’t go to fashion events, especially when it is just about women’s fashion, like it was with the case of the launch of Work It, the latest collaboration between the fashion label Mango and the new weekly magazine Stylist.

But with my fiance being a big fan of Mango clothes, I could not go. According to her, Mango has one of the best ranges of work wear. Not too luxurious, and not too cheap, but pretty good quality as well as nice styles & designs. So I can definitely see why Stylist Magazine decided to launch the Work It campaign.

Work It aims to raise awareness of the fact that while work might be extremely boring and monotonous, there’s no reason why it should cramp your personal style. The partnership between a well respected magazine for the career-focused woman and one of the top women’s labels on the high street aims to highlight that with some thought and clever combinations, you can create stunning work outfits, whatever the occasion. It is important to be able to break out of the standard black skirt in legal firms or the black trousers in City firms. Depending on where you work, you might have to talk to a range of different people, and you have to dress appropriately depending on who you talk to. It is important to portray the right look, especially since there is such a big range of styles and colours available out there.

Coinciding with the recent launch of the new Spring/Summer 2011 range launch at Mango, both organisations have launched a competition to win your very own clothing party, right in your own office. They’re offering you to make your workplace the chicest workplace in town. The saying “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” comes to mind – but now Mango and Stylist are offering a chance, through a Work It Party, to turn that idiom on its head and say “if you can’t beat ’em or join ’em, why not show ’em that workwear can still be stylish!”

20 lucky offices will get the chance to have a personal Work It party where Mango will bring fashion stylists armed with gorgeous Mango work clothes. The winners will also get a £50 Mango voucher – and colleagues and friends who attend the Work It party will get a 40% discount off all Mango clothing on the night!
