Champagne & Caviar at Le Pont de la Tour

Published 5 August 2012

Le Pont de la Tour, a French riverside restaurant on the gorgeous Shad Thames, are offering diners an exclusive experience this summer, with their pairing of champagne and caviar.

The champagne – Dom Pérignon 2003 –  is being hailed as ‘exquisite’ and a ‘true connoisseur’s wine’. Of Baerii origin and Ossetra type, the caviar has been sourced by respected caviar house Kaviari and is being served up in adorable 10g tins, along with sparkling 125 ml flutes of Dom.

“It’s no exaggeration to call this a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity. We hope as many of our valued guests as possible will seize the chance to try this glorious classical pairing of champagne and caviar,” remarked Nicolas Clerc, sommelier and manager of Le Pont De La Tour’s renowned wine programme. “Dom Pérignon’s signature mouthfeel, freshness and minerality could have been created with this beautiful caviar in mind. Beneath its delicate appearance, the 2003 vintage has an intensity which is revealed as the Baeri eggs melt on the palate, creating a luxurious harmony.”

If this pairing tickles your fancy, be quick, because this duo of deliciousness is around for a limited time only in the bar and terrace of the restaurant, until stocks last. For £25 throughout the summer at Le Pont De La Tour, you can get a pairing of Dom Pérignon 2003 and Baeri Caviar.

Boasting amazing views of the river and Tower Bridge, Le Pont de la Tour is an excellent place to head to for beautiful French cuisine and to soak up the atmosphere of our cosmopolitan city.
