The Oyster Shed celebrates its first Birthday!
Published 29 March 2013
The Oyster shed celebrated its 1st Birthday with cocktails, canapés, music and cake. Nestled on the riverbank, a short walk from Upper Thames Street, with views of the Shard and in walking distance of London Bridge the Oyster Shed laid on a good party to celebrate one year in business.
On walking into the Oyster Shed the first thing I noticed was the view. Floor to ceiling windows make the most of the riverside view which looks out onto the Thames and London Bridge. The nautical themed interior is cosy show casing wooden booths filled with cushions, on the ground floor, that remind you of home. The nautical theme runs throughout the pub restaurant with areas named The Stern and the Observation deck. Upstairs the homely feel is continued with sofas and more cushions. With two floors and two bars and open Monday to Friday this is a great place for after work drinks and food.
As it was a birthday celebration I was treated to canapés of tomato and basil rarebit, prawns wrapped in prosciutto, crab balls, fish and chip cones, mini burgers and of course oysters. All of which went down a treat with my cocktail. The place was packed out for the night with a DJ who is normally there on Fridays. Although it was too cold to take advantage of the cosy outdoor seating, it promises to be an excellent spot come summer time.
