Preview: Balham Food Festival – 10th July

Not heard of Balham? Its a sleepy neighbourhood in South London, the sibling to the more widely known Clapham. For years, Balham was always see as second rate to Clapham in terms of food & drink, but lately, some trendy and top class bars and restaurants have sprung up in Balham.

Preview: Soho Food Feast Fundraiser

The first ever Soho Food Feast is being held on Saturday, 25th June, at the St Anne’s Church Garden on Wardour Street in the heart of Soho. This new food festival aims to raise funds for the Soho Parish School, which is helping inner-city London kids with school clubs and promoting healthy eating.

The Connaught Bar’s Martini Trolley

Who could resist the offer of one of The Connaught Bar’s signature martinis from their famous martini trolley, and canapes designed by two Michelin starred chef, Hélène Darroze? With the thought of a well made martini and some Darroze designed canapes, off I went to The Connaught hotel.

Review: Asakusa Japanese Restaurant

This small Japanese restaurant tucked behind Mornington Crescent station has always been quite the hot table in town for those in the know. I had unsuccessfully been trying to get a table at Asakusa many months before, having visited twice and been told they had no tables and calling a few times and also being told that they were fully booked!
