The worst part of the meal at the 16” West Brasserie was a perfectly cooked Char-grilled rib-eye steak with béarnaise sauce, needless to say, the overall of quality of the food was exceptionally high.

Last Wednesday saw the JD set come to Dingwalls in Camden, for a celebration of the Human League’s seminal album, Dare. The bands assembled to pay their dues to the album and provide a reinterpretation included The Pippettes, Infadels, Shy Child, Shortwave Set and Kids on Bridges.

The latest edition of Jack Daniel’s series of concerts, the JD set, is set to take place in London on the 5th of May, and will once again see a host of modern artists re-interpret a classic album in its entirety. Sky Child, The Shortwave St, Infadels, The Pipettes, and Kids On Bridges will be performing!

Yeasayer is an indie band from Brooklyn, New York, that burst onto the rock scene in 2007 and since then have gained respect for their breath of fresh music into the rock genre. As part of the Shockwaves NME Awards series in 2010, they were invited to cross the Atlantic to show music fans in London what the fuss about them is all about. We went and reviewed the concert, and here is our take.

With so many Japanese restaurants in London all offering high quality Japanese food and sushi, the bar is set so high that there are probably restaurants in native Japan that would fail to make the grade in London. However, Matsuri’s good quality teppan-yaki has set it apart from its rivals in London, although it comes with a steep price tag too.
