Opening Concert to celebrate Lithuanian EU Council Presidency

On the 1st July 2013, Lithuania took over the presidency of the European Union Council. To celebrate this great occasion an Opening Concert, hosted by the Lithuanian Embassy, was held in Westminster, the heart of London. Lithuanian Tourism Ambassador and accordionist Martynas Levickis performed several traditional Lithuanian and classical European pieces showcasing the best of European music.

John Lewis Coronation Afternoon Tea with Gizzi Erskine

John Lewis Oxford Street department store have teamed up with celebrity chef and food writer Gizzi Erskine to produce their new “Coronation Afternoon Tea”, a celebratory afternoon tea for two, in honour of the Queen’s 60th Coronation anniversary. I went along to the Oxford Street store to preview the meal and chat to Gizzi Erskine about her new Coronation Chicken recipe.

Asiana Bridal Show 2013: styles up and down the catwalk

The 12th Asiana Bridal Show took place on the 27th of January of this year at the stylish Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel. I attended the show with a close friend who was (and is!) planning to get married at the end of this year. I was really excited to see what sort of wedding show Asiana would put on and how it would inspire my friend for her Big Day.

First “Teenagers Only” Library in Westminster Opens!

Church Street Library has now opened after a £ 2.5 million refurbishment and is now equipped with its own 13-19 zone complete with its own gaming room, in order to attract more of the teenage population to its library.

1001 Inventions Exhibition at the Science Museum

The 1001 Inventions is a free, family friendly interactive exhibition which showcased at the Science Museum from January to the end of June. It leads us – the exhibition goers – through a journey of scientific, social and technological advancements made between the 7th and 17th centuries across the Islamic Empire in order to illustrate that the so-called Dark Ages were really a “Golden Age” – a period of illumination in terms of science and knowledge.

Leon Review: “Feel Good” Fast Food?

When studying, living, or working around central London it is sometimes quite a dilemma to find a restaurant that serves cheap, quick, and healthy food. Leon, an award winning fast food restaurant, has a reputation for doing exactly that, and so when the opportunity presented itself for me to visit the Cannon Street branch of Leon, I couldn’t wait to see what all the fuss was about!
